Why Your Gift to The Cedars Matters

For nearly 90 years The Cedars has compassionately cared for the seniors of our community, including many of our family members and friends. We have also changed with the times, expanding and adapting our services to enrich the quality of life. Individual life stories are enhanced through programs such as Opening Minds through Art and Music and Memory. Coming soon is our innovative Household Model of Care.

Covid-19 Response Fund

At The Cedars we are working 24/7 to protect all the older adults we serve, as well as the dedicated staff who care for them, as the Covid-19 situation rapidly evolved. As we do everything in our power to keep our residents as safe as possible and connected to their loved ones, we are facing increased expenses.

The Cedars Response

We have confidence in our emergency management protocol. Our interdisciplinary task force meets daily to discuss updates and plan for next steps. The Cedars is working closely with the Maine CDC and our medical director from Maine Health for guidance regarding Covid-19 in order to keep our residents and staff safe and well. At this time, we do not have any positive cases of Covid-19. Having closed The Cedars to visitors, we are working to increase our technology capacity to enhance communication between residents and their loved ones. This is crucial to the well-being of the older adults in our community.

Your Support is Critical Now

As we have served our community for 90 years – we now turn to our community to assist us with donations to The Cedars Covid-19 Response Fund. Your support will help us by:

  • helping us expand and enhance communication technology through the purchase of items such as iPads, iPhones, and smart speakers
  • hiring additional staff to help our residents one-on-one with techology and connections
  • developing employee assistance and appreciation programs to support our staff who are juggling situations like school closures and older parents who need assistance
  • purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks, isolation gowns, and hand sanitizer

Your generosity matters in critical times like these and is deeply appreciated by The Cedars community. Please help The Cedars with a gift to the Covid-19 Response Fund right now!
