The Cedars award-winning Wellness Program offers amazing benefits to The Cedars community. We meet routinely, and are always looking at innovative ways to bring a opportunities for a healthy balance of mind, body and spirit to our employees. Here are some of the programs the Wellness Committee has offered and sponsored:
Annual Wellness Fair: experts in exercise, diet, and overall wellness provided advice and treats such as massage, paraffin dips, Reiki sessions, Zumba classes, help form financial advisers, and more.
Educational and Wellness Sessions: Harvard Pilgrim provided a grant to The Cedars to allow us to bring in experts in their field to present on various topics to the staff. Programs include: Pack a Health Lunch, Financial Wellness, Chair Massage, Boning Up on Your Health, Practical Ways to Eat on a Budget, to name a few.
Get Active Challenge: a fun way for staff to team up and support each other through this 8-week springtime challenge, where every week brings a new goal and incentive. At the end of the challenge, the winning team wins a monetary prize!
Red Cross Blood Drive: The Cedars Wellness Committee partners with the Portland Red Cross to sponsor this opportunity to give blood and give back, held every February at The Cedars.
